Overview
Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak Faculty of Physical Sciences offers two year postgraduate courses leading to M.Sc Physics, M.Sc Chemistry and M.Sc Mathematics degrees.
Students can choose their specialisation as per their graduation subjects and career interests. The programs provide advanced theoretical knowledge, analytical skills, practical learning and base for research and higher studies.
M.Sc Physics:Candidate should have B.Sc (Hons.) Physics or B.Sc (Pass) with Physics and Mathematics as two main subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
M.Sc Chemistry: The candidate must have B.Sc (Hons.) Chemistry or B.Sc (Pass) with Chemistry as one of the main subjects and must have at least 50% marks in aggregate.
M.Sc Mathematics: Candidates should have B.A./B.Sc (Hons.) Mathematics or B.A./B.Sc (Pass) with Mathematics as one of the subjects with 50% marks in aggregate.
It offers a chance to study scientific concepts in depth and to develop research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
M.Sc Physics can be beneficial to students who are interested in areas like material science, electronics, semiconductors and research.
The Physics Department of MDU itself has research activity in Material Science, Semiconductors and Laser Physics.
The M.Sc Chemistry offers specialisation in Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry and the Mathematics course enhances advanced mathematical, analytical and computational skills. The Chemistry Department at MDU presently has specialisations in Inorganic, Physical and Organic.
